My brother has a 5130, and I was going to put an O2 sim into it. I tried to unlock it, but it only states orange and one to one on network search. Can this phone only be used on these networks, and if not, can someone advise what I am doing wrong.

Cheers

I have since done a search which I should have done first, although it is not 100% clear, it appears to some say that it can't be changed from Orange etc. Some others say it may show UK10 instead of O2, but I dont know how to get network search to show this. I have data and flash cables if this is what I need.

This phone will only work on the gsm 1800 network.
No point trying the o2 or vodafone network as it is on gsm 900 and will not work at all.

That is what I thought, but someone advised the uk10 option would take O2, I just cant access it.

Guess I will just have to leave it on Orange then

Thanks anyway.:(

It will work on O2 but only in area'a were O2 use the 1800mhz as well as the 900mhz, I know there does this in London as I used one for a bit.

I am in the NE of Scotland.

Is there any way I can find out if this area is covered by the 900?

Other than Network Search, because it only shows Orange and One to One.

Cheers
