View Full Version : Bluetooth and Winxp?
Is it at all possible to connect to pc suite while using a 3rd party usb dongle under winxp, i am able to use the bluetooth managing program blue manager provided with the phone but am unable to use pc suite at all, it will not even acknowledge my bluetooth device, it lists the com ports but am unable to get a response from pc suite when i try selecting one, it will simply not connect nor acknowlege the existance of bluetooth on my system, just the attach devie message you get when you fire up the program. is it the OS or will pc suite just not connect to a 3rd party (not 3com or other big names as such, just the average 3rd party ones which are kicking around on the market relatively cheap) usb dongle.

What USB Bluetooth adpater u are using and what Windows XP version home or Pro? I experienced same problem with MSI USB Bluetooth and XP Pro, I consulted already with Nokia customer care but they cannot figure out the cause.
So I switch to Windows XP HOme and works ok.
I'm using XP pro sp1 and am using the wavelinker usb dongle (alll the 3rd party dongles aer the same jsut under differnet names), so you think that switching down to another OS would help?, I just cant justify switching down OS to get one piece of software to work, is ther no other fix, I just redone my computer last week, and dont plan on partitions.

Yap, understand your concern. I have 3 OS on my PC, WIndows XP PRo, HOme and Win 98 but have not tried it on Win 98.
Try to uninstall any software driver that u think interferes with the Bluetooth driver. My suspects are antivirus software, CD-RW driver and Internet firewall driver, but am not an expert so it would be better if u seek technical help from Microsoft or from ur Bluetooth vendor.
Gud luck
