I know i can use the 7650 to connect my pc to the internet using bluetooth. But I would like to have the 7650 to browse the net through my pc internet connection, is it possible? If bluetooth provides a lan acess to my phone, can't the pc be used as net proxy for the phone?

Hi,
sorry, I can't help you by this prob - but I can give you a very nice tip: Browse via WAP by your pc - thats simplifier.
Go to this page:
www.rkonline.de
(sorry, its german, but I keep your navigation).
- Than click to "Mobilfunk/SMS" at the left menu
- scroll down to "WAP Simulator / WapRunner". Here you find a blank cell to enter your desired wap-adresses.
Thats all.
It works great and without any special connections.
Have fun.

You can do it by setting up a a GPRS via Bluetooth connection on your phone. And make sure you set the the IP to 0.0.0.0
You can chat through Wireless IRC using this as your default.
You can view sites with Reqireless Webviewer using this default as well.
Connection name: My PC Bluetooth
Data bearer: GPRS
Access point name: -
User name: None
Prompt password: No
Password: ****
Authentication: Normal
Gateway IP address: 0.0.0.0

Hmm.. but how will that connection go through bluetooth? It seems like the GPRS connection I have right now.

It doesn't seem to be working Caramel. Probably we need some special software no the pc to work as gateway...

No special software is required. Your N7650 will use that Access Point to access the net via your PC if both are paired. Keep trying mate. I've got it working with my PC, N7650 and Compaq Ipaq.

For Wireless IRC set your default gateway to "none", and hit connect. You should see the mRouter tray icon start to flash showing data is being transmitted, then you'll be online.
For IM+ just hit connect. It tries to find an IrDa or Bluetooth connection before it asks you to select a gateway.
If you want to pickup/send email through your bluetooth connection you need to setup a new Access Point. Set it up as follows:
Tools - Settings - Connections - Access Points - Options - new Access Point - Use Default Settings
Connection Name - Bluetooth
Data Bearer - GPRS
Access Point Name - bt
User Name - None
Prompt Password - No
Password - **** (none - leave it as it is)
Authentication - Normal
Gateway IP Address - 0.0.0.0
Leave the advance settings as they are.
Go to your Messaging Settings - Email - Mailboxes - (chose your mailbox) - Change the "Access Point in use" to be your new Bluetooth Access Point. You'll have to work out the other mailbox settings yourself. It all depends on your ADSL supplier. Get them from your PC mail program.
Now, when you go to your mailbox, it'll ask if you want to connect to mailbox? hit Yes. The GPRS icon will flash a bit, then disappear, then you'll get "Connecting via Bluetooth". mRouter will start to flash, and in my case, Norton Antivirus will scan any incoming and outgoing mail.
Fantastic.
For webviewer just set the default access point as the bluetooth connection

Thanks a lot!! I got it working just as you said!
My email isn't working with bluetooth. I guess it maybe a problem with the firewall or my firmware (3.12)
do you have to have your pc suite working to do all of this because i cant seem to get mine to work it wont register as having bluetooth devices attached.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i was led to believe that the whole point in having a wireless webviewer was to view the internet on the move.
However, if you have to dial-up with your PC via bluetooth then this defeats the whole purpose. i.e. you have to be at home with your PC EVERY time you want to use webviewer

Yeah, but Wireless IRC can be quite useful. You can use it anywhre in the house without sitting in front of the PC..

By all means if you can carry your whole desktop into the toilet when you're taking a crap, then go right ahead.
This method is handy if you're around the house and you want to access online services without incurring the cost of GPRS. Plus you get to share your very fast ADSL connection :)

I have connected 7650 via BT to my ADSL line in the PC. I can surf the WEB via Webviewer, and I also can get e-mail from my POP3 account but I can't send any e-mail. The phones says to me that I have to check my mail configuration. I think the problem is that my SMTP server needs authentification and the 7650 hasn't this function. Anyone knows a SMTP that doesn't need authentification.
Thanks.

mRouter comes with PC suite, you need to install that for webviewer to work it's on the cd that comes with the nokia 7650. if you install pc suite and it will inall mRouter.
then tick infaref on mRouter and you should be able to use it

so I got my phone bill the other day to find a $50 charge for data. I thought I was using my pc so I wouldn't be charged for the data usage. I double checked my settings and had everything good except my authentication was set as secure instead of normal. Does anyone know if this would have made the difference, and is there any way to be absolutely sure you will not be charged for the data usage. (like for example using flight mode or something)
