Virus ???

Anyone knows if there is some virus for the Symbian platform?
And if there is, is it a way to scan it and clean it with some antivirus software?

McAfee is developing a virus scanner for Series 60, but you shouldn't be too worried as viruses are more associated with programs written in C++

I am worried cause they said in Greek Forum that some programs in Yahoo Groups have viruses.

there is a "i love you", "true love" virus on the rounds it is attached to a *.scr file (eg truelove.scr) it will infect the pc it is downloaded on to not the phone.

Maybe they just stated that so you don't download and distribute "warez" :p

Hi,
first: A happy new year for all!

Ref. the virusus: I have just scanned with NAV (latest update: 12.31.02) all my files, but no infection.

At an another forum they post, that "our" Symbian OS 6 is NOT practicable for virus-infection. Because it multi media codings are not so "deep" (sorry, I cant articulate me better in english). The first "more open" OS will be at the Sony Ericcson P800, because it have more features (sorry, I forgot the details, because it is not interestet for us).

That means: Use - as usually - a virus scanner to check your downloads - transfer to our N7650 shoult be not dangerous.

If anybody have another informations, post it please.
