Have tried to scan for bluetooth enabled device one time, when I was in a cinema in Bahrain and found somebody. So I sent a picture (a little hormy pic) and it turned out to be a girl.

So bluetooth is a perfect pick-up line, like........seen the picture, I'd bet yours look better than that and she showed me hers and it does look better and tastes better as well hehehehe....:D :D :D :D :D :D

Hello !
I´m very new to this bluetooth thing...you said that you "scanned" for others with bluetooth on?
So if I want to try the same, I just turn the bluetooth option on from my 7650?
After that, there comes a little dot in the corner of the screen...it´s on?Right?
But if someone comes in to the range of my 7650, do I get some notification then?
Does it drain the battery if I leave it on?

:) :) :)

1 go to your connectivity folder

2 go to bluetooth

3 On first screen (i)Turn Bluetooth on (ii) show to all (iii) give it bluetooth name

4 Press right (when on 1st screen)

5 Press "options" goto "New Paired device" then "seach for new..."

Ok, now I got it right!
Thanks!
How big is the range where other Bluetooth users can be detected? Like 10 meters or so?
I´ve noticed that keeping Bluetooth "on" will not add battery usage.

Hi Mercedes,

As I read our bluetooth range (as in effective range) is only 6 meters but it's already on a very futile connection. I guess our Nokia's have the class 3, as the 10 meter range bluetooth is the class 2 and the class 1 ranges 30 meters.

Anybody more knowledgeable on this please correct me, as I can't remember the link where I read about this before.

Cheers.

nb: try putting on your Phone name as "Nokia Finland" or Nokia Corp. It puts the added zest and authenticity in sending them rogue images.

Thanks again for the help!
Yep, I thought that 10 meters would be a lot.
30 meters...now that would really be something!!!:)
Pardon my bad english, but could you explain more about the last words you said...I´m not sure what you ment by putting the names to my Nokia?

What I meant was, your phone asks for an identification/or bluetooth name instead of the usual "nokia7650" you could change it to "Nokia Corp" or "CNN.com" or anything you want to name it.

And nice place and cool car you got there.

The nokia 7650 is class 2 with 10m range.

:)
Oh yes!
I did think that you were referring to the name of the phone, but I was´nt so sure...
Thanks!
Pondscum says that 10 m would be the range of the 7650, cant argue with that...:)
I would also like to have a bluetooth connection for my pc...it would certainly make things a lot easier!

:) :) :)

Ps. It´s winter here...
The house is freaking cold bechause the outside temperature is
-26 celsius...the only warm place is the cool car...heh...

curious when u are communicating from 7650 to 7650 does one not need to do the pw thing like u do with pc's and does it not ask if you want ot accept the connection, is it possible to do this anonymously?
