Hi,

I have read most of the Nokia 6210 proble.....and still cant understand how to update the software.

Currently I have 2 Nokia phone
1)
v03.74
22-09-00
NPE-3
(c)NMP.

2)
v05.02
02-04-01
NPE-3
(c) NMP.

Well I want to upgrade the first phone (v03.74) and I would like to know.

a)What cable(s) I have to buy?

b)What type of program to use to flash the phone.

c)Currently for the Nokia 6210 which version of firmware is stable that does not have any problem with GSM1800MHz?
(prefer the asia version so I can input chinese and of course english)
[does this site has the correct version of firmware? http://www.gsmflashes.com/nokia.html sorry to the owner for not asking permission to link it here as the site forum is not in english i do not understand ]

d)Should I upgrade it to 6250? If no/yes why? What version.?

Thanks for the help.
If there is any help pages on the net please reply here.

Here (http://www.gsmschwantz.com/upgrade.htm) you have what you need and how to do the upgrade and
here (http://www.gsmschwantz.com/6210.htm) you have how to convert 6210 to 6250. I don't think there are many differences but you may like some features of 6250 that doesn't exist in 6210.

If you don't have, you'll have to buy a flasher cable and a mbus cable. That's all.
6250:
- User selectable keypad lock time with unlock code
- Timed profiles (provide the option to specify the length of time to remain in one profile)
- Task journal to keep track of working hours and expenses, also for storing various comments
- Automatic volume control that automatically increases or decreases the loudspeaker volume level to cope with background noise
- Currency conversion from idle mode
- Stopwatch in addition to standard time functions

I think these are the features of 6250 that doesn't exist on 6210.

hmmmmm.......
The flasher cable and mbus is two diffrent thing?

IS the mbus cable connects to the computer's com port?
And the flasher cable is sort of like a PS/2 port that connects to the mbus cable?

Which is the mother cable? I mean the main cable....then u just have to add in the additional extension so can flash other phone e.g. 3210, 33xx, 8xxx ????

The flasher cable and the mbus cable are 2 different cables.
The flasher cable (http://www.customfones.com/flasher_kit.htm) is connected to LPT (paralel) port and the mbus cable is connected to COM (serial) port.
You can buy a flasher cable and a mbus adapter to use with the flasher tips.
