8210 contact service

hi

i have a nokia 8210 from my friend he asked me to upgrade it. so i did i made a backup flashed the phone with 5.31C from the forum using rolis now when i turn on the phone it says contact service. when i want to do the quick set faid i get a knoklib.dll accses voilation what to do now??

what does that "rom "version mather? how can i indentefy it?

i need help, this phone issen't mine (my backup was f*cked up...

how could it be posible that i can't connect with mbus
i modded my 6210 datacable so al dejan connectors would fit, whit al the other phones it works perfect exept this one...

is there a different between mbus and dejan flasher cable pin out?

Just to add some of my experience with 8210;

I also get 'CONTACT SERVICE' when my 1st time flashing 8210. I could not connect it using MBUS cable but luckily I backup full MCU+PPM+EEPROM so I flash it back and get the original software.

Second time I get some advice from this forum and I found out that my AUTOSWITCH MBUS/FBUS cable have a problem. So I use my MANUAL SWITCH MBUS/FBUS cable for updating FAID & etc and :D it works.

What type of MBUS cable do you have?
Did you backup full MCU+PPM+EEPROM?

i backed up the phone but that one is trashed

i'm using an autoswitching cable i asume

my cable is made from a 6210 cable where i cut of the wire and solderd an 5din plug (same as on flasher cable) it works with all nokia's exept this one

how can i make an manual cable?
is it posible to make it from the automatic one?

i managed to get mbus working!!

just disconnect the fbus RX/TX from the connector
(i had an auto switching cable)

next is to make a switch on the connector
(or a nice "unlock/flash box)
