The last time I called Nokia Service Center, sometime 1st week january, the latest version available is v3.16. But if u want to upgrade ur phone at ur own risk, u can got to greenhills for 1500-2000.

Yes, if u upgrade ur phone all user data and settings will be erased so u need to back all of these before flashing ur phone.
The latest available version is v4.37 from vodafone and v4.39 for asia, but these are not yet available from nokia service center, it takes about 3 months before these software upgrades be distributed to local Nokia service centers.

U cn download the mcu and ppm files plus the phoenix service software on the net but u need the nokia dongle (FLS 4) which costs 700,000.00

yap, but maybe higher than that now. This piece of equipment called FLS 4S is made by Nokia and intended for nokia certified technicians only, and that's why their service manual is not advertise in public..
Though, there is the pirated version called griffin box and neelix box. Griffin is available here in the phil and costs 25,000.00..

I had my 7650 upgraded about 3 weeks ago in Greenhills. I went to DJGT (it's the shop right below the escalator on the ground floor). It took me only about 45mins. When I got my phone back, I still had my contacts and software intact.
