I have recently purchased a nokia 8265 and attempted to unlock the phone. I was using NOKIASOC 2 and it said the phone was unlocked, but now my *3001#12345# does not work. I have tried factory fix reset as well as a full factory and neither have worked. Now does this number even matter in the programming of the phone by a service provider? And how do i get it back? THANKS ALOT!

Unfortunately, I do not think that NokiaSOC 2 was designed for the 8265 phones and their firmware revision. How did you get the application to recognize the 8265 since it is not in the commandclass.ini file. Did you let it auto select the phone and then try to unlock it?

Unless you backed up the eeprom first, I think that the unfortunate part is that you are going to need to service the phone to get it working again.

Sincerely,

Thanks. I didn't back up the eeprom. I did let the program aut select the phone because it worked great with my 5165i. Can you tell me what kind of servicing needs to happen to get the phone working again? (I have another 8265. Can i use the eeprom from that phone?)

When you use NokiaSOC does the correct ESN still show up when you read the phone, or is it just blank? That will determine the amount of damage done to the eeprom in the phone. As for using 1 phone eeprom to fix the other, a direct transfer of the eeprom from one phone to the other would not work. The eeprom contains the ESN and other checksum information which will not transfer from phone to phone. The best thing to would be to use WinTesla and a service cable to work on the phone and determine what exactly is wrong.

Try to play with "reset custom".... some version use " 15" some use "21" but play with that . That should work.....

My friends, Nokiasoc was designed to work with dct-3 phone, which 8265 is.

Works great with 8265.

What did you do, or what option in nokiasoc did you use?

I never personally tried it with a 8265 only 8260 which worked fine, I just figured that Nokia made some changes that buggered up NokicSOC with the 8265.

How do you figure out which custom reset value to use on a phone, without using the trial and error method. Is this information available somewhere?

Thanks guys for all the help. A custom reset #21 worked!:) Thanks again! I am also interested in the rest #'s anyone know what they mean and what works for what? I know #9 can fix the same problem on a 5165 and 21 does it on 8265.
THANKS AGAIN!
