Used to have a siemens sl45 used a com port conncetor to upload music to, however i could not get the phone to be recognised via the quicksynch software supplied, thought that the cable was duff.
bought t-100 bit pissed to see a serial conncetor instead of usb but nevermind, installed pclink softwre connceted to com ports, and blow me same problem again the software cannot find the phone on either com port.
have looked in device manager to see if there are any conflicts on the com ports and windows reports no conflicts and the devices are working properly
i am at my wits end can any of you guys help, thanks in advance

For the PC to see the T100 you first need to turn the phone OFF
Connect com cable to com port on PC
Connect other end to T100 (Phone screen will turn white)
Click Connect on the PC link software

thanks for the reply andy, however i know about the white screen and do get it visable, the damn thing just wont recognise the phone, i know its not the cable and windows says the comports are fine and have no conflicts, i dont know what else to do other than buy a new motherboard (which is a bit extreme just for the sakes of a phone!!)- any other ideas would be most appreciated

Yeah, where is the softmodem software? It is not on the cd that comes with the T100?
I can't understand why you can't connect?
What OS are you using 95/98/ME/2000/XP ?
If using XP try using Compatibility Mode
What are your comport settings.
Any more info and i'll see if i can help you further

no msn im afraid, tried compatibilty mode no sucess if windows does not detect a conflict on either com port and they both have the standard comport settings com1 irq 4 03f8-03ff and com 2 irq 3 02f8-02ff why should there be a problem, it works on my parents pc no problem??

Do you have a PS2 mouse or a serial mouse?
Is your modem on com 1,2,3,4 etc
Is your com port 2 disabled in your Bios? If not, try disabling it as it sometimes conflicts with your modem?
