Dear Users of 7650:

If you use the option backup of PC-Suite,
and if you have some data originated by
some java software, DO REMEMBER that
the backup does NOTHING to the software
and/or the data of java applications.
Everything is, in fact, backed-up BUT
the Applications data and files are NOT
backed-up !
Anyone knows anything about this problem ?!

Best regards to all.

Eduardo Marques.

Hello!

Not all is saved by the PC-Suite by default:
* Operaterlogo
* Codes (Lockcode, Pincode, ...)
* all JAD/JAR files
* MIDI-files (in C:\system\sounds)

But there is a workaround:

In the installation folder of the PC-Suite on your Computer you will find a file named
***BackupExclusionList.dat

Open this file using the windows-explorer (eg. with a normal text editor).

You will find the the following entries there:
***D:\
***C:\system\temp\
***C:\system\midp\
***C:\system\sounds\digital\
***C:\system\sounds\simple\
***C:\system\apps\phone\oplogo\
***C:\system\shareddata\reserve.bin
All this folders and the folders below them will NOT be saved (eg. the whole D-Drive will not be saved).

Just delete the lines which contents you want to be saved (but make a backup of this file before!).

IMPORTANT:
Do***N*O*T***delete the following two entries:
***C:\system\temp\
***C:\system\shareddata\reserve.bin

Then the Operaterlogo, the midi's, the Java's and the self created sounds will be saved, too.

Hope this helps!

Christian

Do i have to hard reset the phone?
If i reset is really everything deleted?
My unlock code? is it reseted to 12345 or maintained?

in performing hard reset on ur N7650, the original settings will be restored as in " How it looks and what it was" when u bought it... same as "almost brand new" the codes are again the default code provided by nokia which is 12345
