hello, i was wondering if i could get some responses here from anyone...

my first question is...if the imei is illegal to change...do you guys think that it is safe to do this remote unlocking thing that is out there? you know...there are already people saying that they would unlock your phone if you send them your imei number and they will email you back with a code?

i mean...in a way sounds great...but what if they write down all the imei numbers they get and they decide to block them for fun? or report it stollen? can this be done?

my other question is...i heard that the nokia 8390 version 7.8 can't be unlocked with a f/m bus cable and the software out there. is this true?

thanks you all :)

The guys that do this unlocking are usually well know and very profesional because of the money needed to buy these boxes (even though the price is dropping fast). I dont think that these guys would even thing about blocking your phone. It would be very hard for them to block them anyway.

It is very safe.

I think this is true. I'm not sure but I think I read this somewhere. Maybe someone can comment on it.

I have an unlocked 8390 with 7.8 software. However, it was unlocked when my software was still 7.7 then upgrade to 7.8. After the software upgrade, the phone is still unlocked.

If you have easy access to a flasher for software upgrade, you can try this way.
