Creating a WAP site

Hello,

Right, im wanting to create a wap site for my 7210 as like a storage place for my games blah blah blah. Now the problem is, i need a wap server that is free, or cheap anyway, (in the uk)
Also, i need a program that helps write wap sites and a way of creating COLOUR images. Can anyone help me? Or am i talking double dutch?

Hi,
I have tried to do the same thing, and have actually made it through the first steps. I have a wap site running, and I am able to download ringtones (and probably pictures as well) from it. My problem is with games, as these come in two files (jad and jar). Any wap experts out there?

Now to your questions:
How to set up a wap site: Just apply for a web-site and put your wml file there. I use www.start.no here in Norway, and get 15Mb or so of free web/wap space. Should be plenty for my nokia 6610 ;)

How to create color pictures: Uh, I used photoshop to create a 128*128 24bit bmp file and transfered it using nokia data suite. Not sure what fileformat is used by the phone.

How to create wap-sites: Here's a start for you. I copied most of this from midlet.org. I am not a wap expert...:

Put a ringtone with the name smb.mid under /tones on the wap-site, and you should be able to download it to your phone. You can use opera (www.opera.com) to preview wap-sites before punching in the whole url to your wap-phone.

First off what wap software are you using....if you use Apache web server you can add there 2 lines to the mine types file under the configure folder

text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
application/java-archive jar

this will let you download games to your Phone you need to add another mine type to send operator logos but backgrounds and will work without any other setup
