I just arrived safely, from a nice vacation, but it ended up with a fight on the plane with the attendand, cause i was using my 7650 taking pictures with my friends, she came over, asking me to turn of my Phone, i've tried to explain that it off, it's on Flight Mode, she did not beleive me! And i dind't turn it off, while people next to me started to fight with me 2!!!! DUM they were!
It ended up, me turning the phone off

Does flight mode really turns the signals off???

We all believe you. The P800 has this function built in. For the 7650, you have to install it but will work as well.

The problem is.....THE GENERAL PUBLIC does not know this. Only computer & tech geeks like you & me will. Any phone....ANY PHONE, if it is switched ON, most of the commoners out there will think that the phone is ON ready to receive & transmit.

So, no one is to be blame here. Excuse to the general public of not knowing this as they are by nature do NOT UNDERSTAND computer / technology concept.

So....in order to have less hassle....Just don't use your 7650 or better still switch it off. Use a dedicated digicam instead when onboard an aircraft.

Agree with me....?

htreXists: Just forgive that attendant, she did not have her basic telephony course in college... he he he... anyway, when your phone is in flight mode, it does not emit RF signals and so there is no risk of interference created by your phone to the airplane controls.(note: in flight mode for N7650, your SIM was removed)... and this is why it is called FLIGHT MODE, you can use your phone as a PDA.

frodo: How's Gandalf? He he he... Use the systems tools by PSIloc to set your phone in Flight Mode / PDA mode. You will be asked to turn off your phone and remove the sim.

there are so many gadgets nowadays that a cabin crew cannot be prepared on everything you should have shown the cabin crew that your sim card had been removed from the phone.... Of course you can only use any electronic equipment once the seat belts sign has been switched off inflight....

hope next time you'll be able to use it!!! (I do use mine eheh)
