Can Anyone Supply me with Help and Links on how I can Unlock my 5185i to work with Other Networks..

What network is the phone currently on and which network are you looking to move to. Sometimes even if you have the MSL code for the phone, it is of little use because certain providers will not activate phones which they did not sell.

Hi..

It's Currently on Cricket but I would like to go though either Verizon or Alltel

Saying that though I have no Preference..

I know that Alltel will allow me to do it..

I've been doing alot of work on 5185's and I've had good success switching between the following three carriers:

Altell, Verizon, CellularOne/Western Wireless

I don't know how to take off a SPC lock, but not all of the phones on these carriers are programming locked. The biggest issue is changing the PRL (perfered roaming list) so that it will properly roam on your carriers network. Many carriers now offer over the air flashing for the PRL however this is based on the carrier specific software version in the phone.

For example:
v 556sd1a5.nef is Verizon
v 616sd1c7.nef is Altell

this software is loaded into the phone based on the PRI which is in turn based off the "code" on the back of the phone. This software will effect the way your over the air prl update performs. Even if you load a verizon phone with an Altell prl (v1203 for example) and program it with an Altell SID when you do an over the air PRL update it will load it back to a verizon prl.

So the problems for which i'm seaking a solution are:
1) how to read an SPC from phone, or remove the SPC lock
2) how to change the PRI of the phone and load differnt carriers software
3) how to read PRL's out of new phones that use phoenix instead of wintesla

if anyone else has had any different experiences I'd appricate the comment.
