Same problem for me! my 7650 starts transferring data but after ca. 1-3 secs after that I get the same error message.
Also tried it with the new 6100, same problem again...

Hi,
This is stated in a lot of places.
Nokia 7650 will not exchange pictures with none of the other nokia color phones.
The problem is not with the 7650, thank God for Symbian, but with the OS that nokia puts in their other phones.

my opinion is because the resolution of the fones are different, so maybe they are incompatible... but on the other hand, it can send to a t68i and to any fon via MMS, which means i may be wrong...:D

I can send pictures directly by infrared from my 7650 to a Sonyericsson t68 and to a Sonyericsson T300, but i can't send it to other nokias.
But, i may be wrong also! :D

yeah thats right, i sent to a few T68's and went through fine. its a shame in it. you could be right about it being a symbian phone and other nokias not. but still dont explain how we can sent to an ericsson with no problems.:(

Hi,
Because nokia doens't implement the IR standard protocol correctly in their OS, they changed it too meet their own needs. And Symbian does it correctly. And SonyEricsson does it too.
Palm does it too. Microsoft doesn't with their PocketPC, you have to install a special program to do it (Conduits PeaceMaker).
So, every brand has its own plans. Nokia has Club Nokia, and they don't want to let you exchange pictures (or midis, or anything expect contacts) with your friends by IR, they want you to buy credits and spend them in their Club Nokia site, or in your Network Operator site.
