hello,
because of a bad received mail yesterday, i had to make a hard reset of my 7650 with the *#7370# code. but the phone crashed before it finished to restart...! :(

now when my phone starts, i get a message : phone start-up failed. contact the retailer.

my question is : is there a way to get the phone work or i'm forced to give it back to my retailer to have a new one...? i've gone to a nokia center and they weren't able to repair the software (they said to me that they've flashed the software)...?

note : sorry for my poor english, i'm french...! :)

That's odd!!
They can't do nothing?!?!
They have to! They have to install again the firmware over the one you "half formatted".
I think!

It also happened to me! But it didn't stopped when reseting, it went to the end. After reseting i got that same error message. Then as i couldn't do anything, i took it to the service center and they just upgraded the software. No problems there. As they did it for me, they can do it for you! (I am from Portugal)

Get someone to flash mcu and ppm into the phone using Griffin box and pronto!!!

I have fixed many with this problem.

I work in a store that has an official Nokia repair center. I donot repair the phones but my collegues told me that I'm lucky that everythin went o.k.

According to Nokia, the code provided on this site is very crash sensitive, and not supported by Nokia. Nokia declared that they never published the code themselves because of that reason.

For every kind of waranty service, the service center gets payed by nokia each time a waranty problem has been solved, except for these kind of problems, so be aware that using this code is @ your own risk.

Is a some combination of keys to start the phone anyway? (when it screens "Contact your reseller")
A combination to re-format the c:/ and recalculate it to start in default mode?
In the latest version maybe?

You can turn on the fone pressing abc or the joy, but to reboot it afteer "contact SC" some people tried about 50 times 'till it turned on. When it does, full format it and certify you have enough battery or charger connected

And about the option "format fone" in SystemTools, is it safe or it's just like *#7370#?
