Downgrade 6250->6210

Hi,
Last month I bought a 2nd hands 6210. I didn't know it was upgraded to 6250. Because of problems with charging in the carkit and some other minor problems, I decided to downgrade it back to 6210. I made flashcable, and downloaded 6210v556E_200000.fls . With Knok (Engbld22/Febld18 ) I wrote the flash.
After powering it on I entered my pin. For every push on the keyboard the phone gave a strange noise (a sis). Everything worked except the network : no signal was detected. What did I wrong (or forgot) ???

Did you also replaced the EEPROM from 6250 to 6210?

Here's my procedure. Check if yuou missed something.

1. Select a MCU+PPM flash file.
2. Flash the selected flash file into the phone.
3. Flash a virgin EEPROM of 6210 into the phone.
4. Calculate FAID.
5. Change the IMEI to your own.
6. Reset to factory settings default.

That's it. Needless to say, you must flash at the appropriate addresses.

It may also help to erase the whole flash using kNok before flashing. It's like reformatting.

I used a fls file (3801088 bytes) and used the write FLS flash file to phone button (Is that what you meant with MCU+PPM ???). Afterwards I used the quick faid. I didn't changed the IMEI.
After quick faiding again it founds the network, but the sissing knobs on the keyboard are still there even if I change the keyboard volume. Any suggestion ???

As said WildSwan flash your upgraded 6250 with EEPROM from 6210, change IMEI to original one, remove SP locks, reset all phone settings and update FAID and your problem will be solved ;)

I can't write the eeprom.
I downloaded a eeprom for 6210 (24576 bytes) and tried to write it with Knok (startadress 5A0000) . It blocks after 002867F8 ...

you can write to phone only x*64kB blocks (where x=1,2,3...)

Is it normal that I have to try a lot of times to start writing a fls with Knok (more than 10 tries (power on)) is common ! Or ... is somthing wrong with the circuit (74HC14).
Even Rolis(514) won't start.

Try to use Rolis 4.78b6 (5.14 - buggy version), download PPM+EEPROM from your phone, insert new EEPROM in downloaded file with HEX editor, than upload it to phone.

Rollis 4.78b says the eeprom file (24576 bytes) isn't x*64 Kb ; Do I have to do something extra with the eepromfile before I can write it with Rollis ? I suppose the 6210v556E_200000.fls file (3801088 bytes) is the MCU+PPM file ?
What goes wrong or do I have to change something ?

i'm sure original is x*64kB..
but try to open it in hex editor and fill with FF until it reaches x*64kB.

(here you need math.. that's why they teach math in school) :D

I've tried twice with the 6210 eeprom+pmm 005A0000.fls(6210_ee$2bpmm.zip) and afterwards it says CONTACT SERVICE ...
What now ???

You have to do the following steps
1)Use EEPROM tools v3.1 by B-phreaks
2)Push the button with the lens (Update authority ID)
3)Check the box Manual
4)Put your IMEI
5)Push the green button with the IC (repair IMEI)
6)Push the button with lock (Set Default SP locks)

Follow all the steps from the start again (many times) until to fix your phone...

Sorry Al; still problems :
I wrote the full6210fls ; changed IMEI
After powering on it says SIMCARD not accepted (SIM He xxNHRT in Russian). I don't know why.
I bought the phone on a fair, afterwards I saw it was upgraded into 6250, and it didn't wear the original IMEI (something like 656565...) Could that be a reason ???

Tnx to Al and others who helped me to solve my problem !
After clearing the SP locks the mobile started - at last !
The only dificulty was the language (finding the way in Russian menus isn't easy at all). Just an other flash with the Dutch menus and all OK.

Rollis 478B works great, but it blocks frequently in WIN98 (not in safe mode). Which flashutilities work with win2K ?
