My nephew handed me his 3410 with message "contact service". Its pretty obvious his friends have been trying to flash it.
I have downloaded various flash files to repair it, but when using Knok-Pheonex 1a, I get a "cannot prepare phone" error. All functions under phone settings tab work, so its communicating with the phone, but all settings under read or write tab give the error.
Is the phone truely fried, or am I missing something. Using switchable F/Mbus set to M.

Anyone have any ideas

Thanks

For phone flashing you need flasher cable (connected to LPT), and MBUS - to update FAID after flashing.

Thanks Al,

That short reply has probably saved me a huge amount of time and effort.
I have circuit diagrams for parrallel connections, so should be able to build one fairly easy. I presume that now I use the connection on the base of the phone.

Thanks again

just make a full flash using knok and update FAID using Rollis1.9, then it will be O.K
