3310 not ringing

Hi i have a nokia 3310 that is not ringing.

I understand that the phone needs to be flashed, does it need to be flashed with the same software version?

I am new to flashing but have access to a dct3 box using old windmil soft?

Could i use this software or would i need a new version of neelix 1 , if so does anyone know where i could find it.

I have tried updating the software for the box with neelix V1.9 but the software says there is no hardlock even though i have the usb hardlock in the usb port and it works with the previous software.

Can anyone help?

If u say the phone is not ringing, have u check the ringing circuit or the buzzer whether it is having proper contact with the buzzer contact on the motherboard.
I believe u should check this first before going to the software.

Yes it is not the ringer as this has been replaced with a new ringer that has been tested working.

Sounds like common hardware fault on the pcb, it is fixable with this solution http://uk.geocities.com/nokiafix/diyreps/index.html

Solder pin 6 of user interface chip to upper contact of the ringer...there is a picture somewhere in 33xx section..
