data cable problem? [3510i]

I have one of those FBUS/MBUS data cables for my 3501i it said the cable was for 3510/3510i and ive got it connected to my phone (not a snug fit, hav to hold battery in or i get invalid sim card) anywho ive tried logomanager and the trial version of v2.1 of oxygen phone manager II and none of those can connect with OPM 2 ive got it set on all com ports (ive tried the cable in com 1/3 and 2/4)

can anyone shed some light on my problem and also pm me where i can get mobimob 1.2 (or what ever the heck its called) and OPM II 2.1 both cracked plz

i have exact same problem !
no software properly works with 3510i
the mobim or whatever will not install anythink that works either
be it pics or grafix or tones it is just read as invalid data on the phone
if you get it to work please pm with details cos im lost on it

Try a 3510i cable not a 3510 cable. Aparently it works. And here is mobimb (it should be but i haven't opened it yet, so make sure there is no viruses on it) :eek: Hope that solves it! :)

Ok well ui fianlly got it sorted the problem..... one of the pins was pushed in slightly o i pulled it out to the same length as the others....

As for the invalid sim card and battery slipping i put a bit of blue tack on the battery bit on the cable so it didnt slip away and now.. it works PERFECT

I had a problem with my cable. down to manufactures. I got two. one from one company and another from http://www.1001nokiaaccessories.co.uk/nokia-3510-mobile-phone-datacable-lead.htm (about a tenner)
That one is really snug but i had problems with it. Then i found one of the pins was stuck in. (pull it out a bit and it should work.)
"Polyphonic ring tone uploader" works very well but don't use mobimb as it fucks things up. I've had a problem with it deleting other picture files and tones.! maybe because it's cracked?! i'm not sure. :( just need to find other software that downloads pictures onto the phone. If anyone knows of one let me know. (coz my screen is now blank thanks to mobimb!) :mad: and the phone says it cant open the photo files i've put on (jpeg)

Ok, for everybody that has a cable problem, here is one possible solution.
If your cable is autoswitchable, i.e. it has no fbus-mbus switcher that for the cable to work with Oxygen 2.10 and Nokia 3510i you have to unsolder the mbus pin. its the one in middle in the three pin row. (my cable has 4 pins; just one and three in a row).

Well you could just pull the pin out also if you don't want to tamper with the connector :)
