Hi all.
I bought a new T68 and put the O2 chip from that into my unlocked 8210 (v5.16). For some reason it gave me a contact service! So anyway, I backed it up (8210), flashed it with a v5.31mcu+ppm from 0x2 to 0x3D. Still didnt work so I wrote a virgin eeprom from 0x3D to 0x4. Then it didnt turn on. Next, I manually extracted the eeprom info (ie 0x3E to 0x3F) from the backup and wrote it onto the phone on the same addresses. Phone turns on, IMEI seems good, but still contact service.

My DLR-3P cable seems to be broken. I think I need to be doing some FAID calcs and maybe an SFS but is there *ANY* possiblity that these can be done on the hard drive then flashed onto the phone?

PS. When I checked out the backup, all checksums were ok; does this mean the data from 0x2 to 0x4 was ok?? So does FAID calcs modify data outside this range? If so, why cant these be re-written by flash?

If I made absolutely no sense then then please correct me and ask questions. TIA.
Mun

Well you lost me with most the tech stuff. However the virgin 8210 eeprom which is flying arounfd the net with several other eproms has never worked in any of the phones that I used to repair. Keep your saved 8210 eeprom and swap it for the virgin file. that is your best bet. After you have flashed the mcu ppm and eeprom, have you checked the lock status of the phone? Maybe all four are closed, finally and obviously the faid needs to be done.
Hope any of this helps.
