Hi all,
How do I send midi file through MMS using 7650?
I've read the Nokia_Phone_Messaging_Characteristics_v1_2.pdf and it states that 7650 only can recive midi content, not send, this is for protected content copyrights.
Isn't this insane? You can recive and send a copyrighted Image, but if it's a Song you can't send it, but it get's worst because you can send/recive WAV and AMR that can be copyrighted material also.
SonyEricsson doesn't do this, i can send midi files from my T300.
Is there any software for the 7650 that has a turn arround for this? That would be cool!

Hi Monty2k...
Download and Install Ringtone Studio 1.2. Open the Midi you want to send, Then Options\Send Via Multimedia.
I haven't tried to send one myself but I think it works.
Hope this helps.
Cheers:D

have u?
i dont think that a few kb of midi file exceeds the limit.
you will get "unable to insert object coorrupted or not supported" error if you use seleq1.5 to send thru multimedia (mms).
the midi file im trying to send is just 1kb only.
firmware 4.39
as i said in my previous post, thru infra and bluetooth no problem.

I tried sending .mp4 file via MMS, and it failed, so I renamed the file as .jpg, and it still failed, so somewhere the contents of files is being checked.
My assumption is that this is the network doing the checking, not the 7650, which could account for some people being able to do this and some not. Am I mistaken about this?
(I'm on Orange.)

Hi,
As max said, all filemanagers have the option to send every file by MMS, but it doesn't work, because all of them use the MMS application that comes with the 7650, and that application doesn't accept all formats. I've tried it myself.
The 7650 doesn't check the content of the file, i could send the midi renamed as a jpg, but not everyone who bought a 7650 knows how stuff work like we do. So if i want to send a HAPPY Birthday MMS with picture and music composed as I want, I'm doomed, because i can't.
So, nokia is killing the purpose for what MMS was done. MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING! Multimedia with no Music! Bah!
mick, thanks for the Ringtone Studio 1.2 suggestion, but i have a mobile phone for using on the go. If i have to come home to send a MMS, I rather come home and send an email, or a webcard.
I hate to say this, but as soon as SE P800 come down a little bit in price, i'll exchange it for my 7650.
MMS is really starting come alive here, and i have many friends with mms capable phones, i just hate to be limited to what a brand tells me to do, especialy with a smartphone as the 7650.

When I tried sending my mp4 video file, renamed as jpg, I think this must have been the network blocking it, as I created it with Hantro (T-Mobile), and it did work if I sent it to T-Mobile users, but not to anyone else.

Not sure what you mean about "If I have to come home to send a MMS", but Ringtone Studio 1.2 is 7650 software, so no need to go home to use it.
Would like to know whether sending using Ringtone Studio 1.2 would work on UK Orange, or would still be blocked by network, but now the free trial is over I'm too mean to spend 40p just to test this!

Hi 1344 - What network are you using?
If (some of?) the blocking is being done by the network, this would explain why people get different results with the same software.
