I know so many people have a problem with bluetooth including me. Can anyone tell me is it a hardware or firmware problem?

From the forum, someone said it is hardware problem but another guy re-flashed his phone and his phone works fine afterward. Why?

I said that it's HW problem (coz they told me at service). I've tried to reflash, and problem still occur. But in some cases RE-FLASHING works. I hope in your case will work :D Try it, and if it won't solve the problem, don't pay money for reflashing.

Hi there,
Perhaps i can help you with your bluetooth problem...
First of all the way to find out whether it's a software problem or a hardware problem is go to the standby screen and key in "*#2820#" and you will get a small pop up screen saying "bluetooth address" if you get an empty spot (i.e. the screen pops up but no address is there) that means you have a hardware problem. The only way is to go to a Nokia Customer Support Centre and they'll fix it but it might take some time (like about 3 days or so). If you get an address then you have a software problem wich can be fixed with a firmware upgrade..
Hope thats answered your question, and let me know if you've got your bluetooth problem fixed k..?
Cheers..

Thanks aussie
I tried your method and my phone didn't show the BT address. I think it should be a hardware problem as it worked fine before. Do I have to pay for the repair at the Nokia Sevice Centre?

Dude,
I've been through exactly the same thing as you are going through.. I had to take my cell to nokia and then told me it was a firmware related problem. Unfortunately the only was out is to give your phone in for repairs at the nearest Nokia Customer Support Centre..... Sorry dude, i know how you feel, but this is what nokia calls "human technology"...
lol

When i went to get my cell repaired, nokia did it free of charge. hope you've still got your warrany card with you, coz nokia won't charge you if you have it. if you don't have it though, they might kick up a stir....lol
hope it helps..
