I am currently using a CARK-91 carkit together with a 6310. The carkit is mounted in my car using an seperate audio mute box.
The antenna cable of the MCC-1 holder is connected to my car-antenna.

At this moment I´m considering to change to a Nokia 6100.
From the internet I learned that the 6100 needs a different carkit (CARK-126) and holder (MBC-15s). However, I bought the CARK-91 just half a year ago, and I´m not willing to spend another €200,= on a new carkit.....

..... resulting in a few questions:
- is there a posibility to use the MBC-15s holder with the HFU-2 unit of the CARK-91?
- will the use of different power cables (currently PCH-4J, PCU-4 for CARK-126) give any problems, or can this easily be altered?
- do I only need the AXF-15S antenna coupler to use the car-antenna?

For the record: I (just?) want to use the following features:
- handsfree;
- radio mute;
- battery charging;
- car-antenna.
Any other possible features are not required.

I hope somebody has answers to the questions above!!! Otherwise, a digital installation guide or scheme of the CARK-126 would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Chris

Caution!

It would oh so be nice if the kits were interchangeable, but Nokia have done this on purpose.:mad:

However, my brother works for the Orange network in the UK and he says it can be possible to change just the cradle between Cark's, so long as the 'box' is the same.

Please be aware that the 'box' can be reprogramed to work with the new phone, but even my brother is not given the hardware to do it.

Unless you know someone who can do that for you, my brother says you could end up with a dud Cark91 kit if you mess about with it.

The only real thing we can suggest, is to remove and sell your Cark91 and use the money to buy a Cark126.

Sorry if that does not help much.

Well, I could have expected that... :(
Anyway, thanks for your reply!

Do anyone know the communication protocol between the nokia 6310 and the original carkit CARK-91?
I tried to listen on the MBUS, with a nokia 6310i and my THB carkit. It seems that when the carkit identifies himself on the MBUS, the phone doesn`t answer anymore. I tried it with a 6110 and it answers.
Can someone do the same thing with the original carkit and a 6310, and post the results on the forum?
The settings are 9600 bauds, 1start, 8data, odd parity, 1stop bit.
I listened the communication with a terminal program, directly in hex.
Thanks,
Zoli
