8290 led install

does anybody know if i can install blue led's on the display and keep the keypad led's the same?
i got a hold of 6 led's and would like to install them myself but i'm worried that it might not work if i don't change all 12 of them.

if anyone cares, the answer is yes! the display and the keypad has different circuits. you can change just the display or just the keypad.
