I have sent the complete translation to schizo...but as I wrote in my mail to schizo this progy is optimized to send the sms-e via two slovenian GSM operators (S!mobil (http://www.simobil.com) and Vega (http://www.vega070.com/rich/slo/index.jsp) ) internet server. But I think it could be optimized for other networks too...changing the sms sender server ( operators that has that offers sms sending via their page).

SMS via WAP - have been looking for site that does this for years! (I have GPRS, but it's limited to WAP.)

Went to LTFE, selected "SMS in Email", 3 options came up:
"Posiljanje SMS"
"Posiljanje Email"
"Nazaj na LTFE"

The first two do nothing for me - not even any GPRS activity, and the last one returns me to LTFE.

Am I doing something wrong, or might my Network provider (orange UK) be blocking this site?

P.S. Don't speak Slovenian, or whatever language the site is in.

For any of you guys in the UK I've found a similar way of doing this a little while ago. It's called O2 Pocket (http://www.o2pocket.com) Basically it's a service that's in a trial mode at the moment.

It allows you to send a note to ur own fone...then you have the option to forward it to a friend. All from the o2 pocket wap site.

the wap link is http://www.o2pocket.com/wml/start_login.asp

I'm guessing it'll be available in germany too and anywhere else with o2 network coverage.

You don't have to be an o2 subscriber (I use it with a couple of vodafone numbers and virgin)

It's great for me cause the wap gprs access point is free on voda until april and even after that I have a 15 meg allowance so it means 150 free sms's to any of my UK pals (150 is the free limitation that o2 have set per month during the trial period).

Hope this is of use.

@Straightman: Yes, the site is in Slovenian. But just to let all of you know, both servers - simobil and western wireless (vega) are limited to Slovenian wireless networks - (+386) 031/041/051/040/050/070. So if you're not from Slovenia this won't do you any good...

Translations:
"Posiljanje SMS" -> use this if you wat to send a sms
"Posiljanje Email" -> use this if you want to send an e-mail
"Nazaj na LTFE" -> go back to LTFE

Slovenija juhej naprej!
Cheers to all of ya!

@Thorn78: The wap site you gave can't even send a message to a s!mobil number - how can it then be optimized for other operators?

Yes, I'm slovenian :}. Slovenija juhej naprej...

Anyway, I'm kinda dissapointed in the proggie since none of the two operator portals can't send a sms to my 040 number...
Shall try it out again for some other number in mobitel's juristiction - hope it works there.

Cheers.

OK, people, just to let you know - download this version - it's 1.3b (the version on the top is 1.2 and has some problems):
http://www.dynem.com/ota/show.jsp?id=52

If you understand slovenian you can read all about this program in this post here:
http://www.mobisux.com/tabla/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=mobi1&Number=689177&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=21&fpart=1

The screenshot of the file:
http://www.mobisux.com/tabla/files/689178-SMSSend13.jpg

Anyway, now it has some support for international numbers (like +38640xxxXXX), so maybe there is something to it. I can't test this feature though, cause I'm Slovenian :}. So, everybody monitoring this post - try out the new program and see how it works...

And remember - you have to have the gateway IP configured to 0.0.0.0 otherwise it just wont work - it will give you the 'sporocilo uspesno poslano' (message sent successfully) message, but it won't do it.

...> go to the wap settings and create a new settings profile from 'existing profile' - then choose the one that's gprs (i also have mms and a couple of others) and only switch the gateway ip number - whatever you have - to 0.0.0.0

Works like a charm :7

And here's are some quick translations for all you non lucky-and-proud-to-be slovenians, hehe:

prejemniki - recipients
prazno - empty
dodaj prejemnika - add a recipient
dodaj iz imenika - add a recipient from the address book
odstrani p. - remove r.
vpisi sporocilo - write/input message
poslji sporocilo - send message
imenik - address book (the app's one)
nastavitve - settings
podpis - signature
uporabi podpis - use signature
ponudnik (vega/simobil) - the two slovenian operators you can choose from
nov vnos - new entry
uredi vnos - edit entry
brisi vnos - delete entry
sporocilo uspesno poslano - message sent succesfully (click ok)
preklici - cancel
posiljam sporocilo - sending message (click ok)

Tris is probably all the text inside that you will use - you probably don't even have to use the address book. Anyhow, if there was anything left out, let us know, we will be most happy to translate it for you :}.

Hi all.

I'm glad you like my little app. Program was writen only in slovenian language baisicaly because it could only be used in Slovenia. Two of our mobile operators S!mobil (Mobilcom & Vodaphone) and Vega(western wireless) offer sending free sms messages to all slovene mobile networks. If you chose S!imobil in settings(Nastavitve) you can also send messages to austrian network Mobilcom and croatian Vip net.

If your mobile operator supports sending free sms messages over internet, SMSSend could be used bor sending sms messages. All I need is a URL that is used for sending.

Hi MasterBlaster,

Nice app.

Is there anyway to use url's that include java script send buttons on the page? Or would it have to be a page that sends the message within the url? such as this page

http://messaging.sprintpcs.com/sml/guestCompose.do

This isn't a request, I 'm just curious as to whether it would be implementable. I have freinds on the sprint pcs network but sms from the UK doesn't get through to their fones.

www.o2.co.uk has a webpage to send sms from within the uk the link below contains a few other uk based operators too.

Thanks for your time

A link that you might find useful too (just in case you haven't already seen them, Although they require php running, they might be handy for other projects.)

http://www.k1m.com/scripts/
http://www.k1m.com/scripts/sms_web_sender/

I'm sure you've checked out the icq site too. If not this works for quite a few networks over europe.

PLease can u edit your app so that it can work in italy too...???

sms center is +393359609600
help me...

Sorry it doesn't work that way. If you use sms center you have to pay the same ammount that you would pay otherwise.

You need to be able to send SMS over internet.

Yes it is possible. This is exacltly the way that SMS is send over S!imobil and Vega website.

Thanx fo link to sms_web_sender php class. SMSSend is only a frontend for a php page. The real sending to a providers website is perfomed from php script.

How reliable are those scripts? Can I rely on them? To which networks can you send messages. If they work i might be able to make international version.

Hi MasterBlaster,

I forgot to post the actual links to the ICQ stuff.

http://www.icq.com/sms/eg_networks.html

This is a list of networks supported by sms over email, and a page to test it. (here’s the main info page too http://web.icq.com/sms ) There are loads more networks supported using the web based client.

I'm guessing this would be easy for you to use as you'd just include a script to add the number input to the @icqsms.com and send it out over smtp (anonymously) or possibly just use that page to input the number and send from there (in fact that would be far better, ignore my rambling..lol).

The web send php has worked fine for me...I actually just used to use the email to sms function to check on emails when I wasn’t able to have them all forwarded to one account. Which I now do. I just stuck the script on my site and left the page open on a metarefresh. But to be perfectly honest, I haven’t tried it out for several months so I couldn’t say for certain. I’ll give it a try over the next couple of days and let you know. (some providers have changed their service setups or removed service totally like genie-o2 and vizzavi uk (now 100% Vodafone) are closing.)

I tried back when I found this to work out a way to create a wap page that I could forward info to the php but I failed. It’s probably not to difficult but beyond my skills. If there is any chance of explaining a little of how I could go about incorporating a new site (sprint) into the php script, I’d be very greatful. And possibly how to control this over wap. Would you be willing to release your php?

Also, none of the SMSSend jar’s run on my fone. It’s on f/w 4.39 and I’ve tried installing on a full format 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3b. They’ll install and I can see them in a file manager but they just don’t show up in applications. Perhaps it’s just a language or firmware thing. I’ve had to make do with the screenshots I’ve seen.

Good luck developing it.

As long as ur sending to "slovene mobile networks" there's no need to change a thing. And as this is all the program is intended to do at present, there is still no point changing any settings.
