Hi...

I have an 8250 v3.20... what advantages will I have of upgrading the firmware? to v6.00 is the latest? will i lose my ringtones/phone saved numbers/any settings etc if I do?
where can I get it done as I don't have a flasher cable (a phone shop e.g. phones 4u, or a shop in china town (london) - dodgy or not?). how much would it cost roughly?

Thanx... I know I'm a bit of a newbie so thanx for givin me some of yer time.

ps this kinda applies to my panasonic gd 87 too...

Here you will find a list of changes up to 5.04 >Marcin's Pages (http://www.mwiacek.com/english/gsm/firmware/firm8.htm#8250)
After that not sure, but there is always a reason for new software being released by nokia, bug fixes/stabillity improvements etc

As long as you only flash the MCU/PPM not the Eeprom you shouldnt loose numbers/ringtones etc as they are stored in the Eeprom.

You can buy a DCT3 flasher cable set for about £15 now, Try here...
