help on getting aps to phone

i need your help people! :) i dont have any cable, bluetooth or ir on my comp so i attach files as email attachments and send it to my phone using nowmms. my problem is that they can only handle files up to about 104 kb.

do u guys know any other possible way i can get some of the bigger, nicer aps and games to my phone, by the way its a nokia 7650.

i really want a nice video recorder and player. all i have now is some tones, photosms, ringotone studio, stacker, camerafx, handyphotosafe and dream chat.

any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks! salamat ha

Why don't you just attach the sis-files to an e-mail which you then send to your own e-mail address. Now use your phone to log into your e-mail account and get the mail.

How about uploading them to a website and downloading them over wap. This way if you don't have an APN for email you can use the wap APN to download it.

I've tried this with vodafone over wap and it works fine. the largest sis I've tried is the 184kb Nokia_3650_Videorecorder.SIS

while we're at it (instead of starting a new thread).... MMS/WAP has not been enabled on my phone (or issit SIM?).... and i can transfer files fine using IR...

i just installed SeleQ and a video prog (starts with H, not HipCam)... but i cant find how to send the video to my pc...

can u please teach me how to log into my email address from my phone? btw im on yahoo mail. (im on globe telecoms here in the philippines)

about the other method.. using a wap site, how do i create one? i know its different from the normal html website.. can i make a free wap site people could go to?

You can access your yahoo mail at http://wap.yahoo.com but you can't download attatchments as far as I remember. You can set up yahoo pop mail if you pay the extra cash to yahoo for this service.

Check out http://www.wapdrive.com for info on building a wap site.

w.r.t the files though...you can use a normal freewebsite to host the files. Just type the exactlink for the file including the filename and extension eg... http://www.mysite.com/myfiles/nokia_video.sis
and ur fone will automatically start to download the file over wap.

Yes, you can do it via MMS, WAP or e-mail. But all these methods will cost you some money... which will be quite big after some time. The money you'll spend on these methods will be more than enough to buy an IR or BT dongle! So, bottom line is BlueMaskeR's suggestion is your best solution. :)
