edit the .bat files and follow the example.. it's easy.
One thing: use WAVS mono-16bit-8KHz and 112 (or 121 I can't remember) MR value
Have fun boy ;)

No need to use the .bat files if you're not going to do shitloads of batch processing actions...
Just write this in the command prompt:
converter wav2amr test_input.wav test_input.amr MR102
this are acceptable MR* formats:
475, 515, 59, 67, 74, 795, 102 or 122
Enjoy reformatting the files and be sure to post any good ones here!

To make things easy, copy the conversion utility & wav files to "c:\wav2amr"
go to "start"
click "Run"
type in "cmd" (without the quotes)
click "OK"
Now a Dos box opens
type in "cd c:\wav2amr"
now type the command line as stated by n3o2501

That was a step by step idiots guide.
And until a good wav2amr converter comes out we're just stuck with that...
@mjsee: That's just a win32 GUI for it.
There is a AMR decoder available from Nokia however, maybe this helps anyone?
May the SYmbianForceOS be with you,

If it doesn't already exist, I'll make a simple gui-front end in vb this weekend

This is a frontend application to create amr-files. It uses wav2amr.
With this program, you can convert wav to amr and viceversa using the wav2amr converter.
Possibilities:
- convert wav to amr
- vonvert amr to wav
- convert files in batch
- change encoding quality
- playback amr-files
I hope this will be easy enough for dummies. The only thing you still have to do is convert your wave to 16 bit, 8 kHz.
If you don't know how to do that, look at the end of this post.
download from:
http://www.aertsweb.com/wav2amrgui.zip
(This download includes the vb6 sourcecode. If the file doesn't start, you'll have to download the vb6 runtimes from http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/VBRun60sp5.exe)

Converting wave to the appropriate format:
- Click "Start" - "Run"
- Type in "sndrec32.exe" (without the quotes)
- Open the Wavefile ("File" - "Open")
- Click "File" - "Save as"
- Type in the name for the new file.
- Click "Change" at the bottom of the form
- In the second box choose "PCM"
- In the second box choose "2,000 kHz; 16 bit; Mono"
- Click "Save"
- Done
