Hello,

I'am having lots of problem with my 8850 phone. After flashing the latest version 5.31 to the phone, the phone shows contact service again and again or the screen hangs for few mintues and then the phone power turns off.

I had also tried flashing virgin eeprom with start address 3D0000 and the size of the file is 192 KB. Just for few mintues it showed Sim Card not accepted but after that it shows Contact Service again. I tried reading the phone information when the error was Sim Card not accepted, but i could not get full information like there was no information of PPM and ROM.

So, now can anyone tell me how to solve such type of problem in the phone. I have been working on this phone since hours but still could not figure out whats the problem is.

Is there any solutio to solve this problem. if yes then please let me know which flash file to written on the phone and which software should i use after flashing to make my phone work.

Hope to get positive reply from you people, thanks in advance :)

Check that the checksums on the fls file are correct as this is the most common reson for 'contact service' if you re-wrote the eeprom then you need to make sure that it has been written to the right address as if you do it wrong your phone will seem 'dead'!
what program are you using to flash??

The only real solution you have is to use a full flash file or flash the mcu + ppm and then the eeprom seperatly!

You can get mcu+ppm at http://www.freegsm.biz this is probably the best site to use for mcu+ppm
The attached file has all the virgin eeproms for loads of different nokia phone!!

if you flash it right you shouldn't get any problems!!

Have you tried flashing the backup file for the phone back to it??

What software are you using??

Have you flashed phones succesfully using your kit before??

What program are you using to check the checksums??

Try to use B-Phreaks 4.0 and click the Magnifying glass, then click the test button on the right hand side of the program and let me know whether all are passed or not. :)

Always take note of this:
Problem-Cause-Solution
1. Contact Service - Incorrect checksum of MCU or PPM - Flash fault free or dead MCU or PPM
2. No signal yet - IMEI not restored to original - change IMEI(see back of phone)
3. Sim Not Accepted - Default Operator values of phone not updated - Click SP
4. Phone Restart after flashing - Firmware not updated on Phone - Click FAID
______________________________
5. Always plug your phone on MBUS and use Noktool by Rolis after flashing - the four mentioned from above should only be used on MBUS Cable, and always use FAID after changing IMEI or FLASHING

6. If everything else fails it, your problem now is HARDWARE
