Does everyone already have the email for the 7650 working?

I'm with Globe and i want to be able to access my email through the 7650. But i don't know how to set it up.

Do I need to have configuration settings sent by Globe for this?

what's your email add???

mine, i have 2 of them, edsamail and an office email, u just need to know whats your incoming and outgoing email server and POP3 or IMAP4 server, that's it!


yahoo doesn't support free POP3, u need to pay for this service

my friend use to check his mail using hotpop mail http://www.hotpop.com/index.jsp

but some mail server requires SMTP authentication like hotpop, and you need 4.39 version above to have this feature on your phone or else you will not be able to send outgoing mail


access point just be sure to use the free access point (www.globe.com.ph NOT internet.globe.com.ph)

If u want to have an email account with Globe, you need to signup for the myGlobe mail or create an account with GlobeXTM.
But if what you want is an email account on your 7650 with any provider, you can try hotpop.com, the disadvantage though is u can only send max of 500KB/file. Globe supports POP3 mail, dont know for IMAP4. Yahoo standard mail do not support POP3mail, u need to upgrade to bizmail.

hello there!!! for quite sometime, i've been using 2, it's hotpop and softhome. i think softhome works better than hotpop because it readily accesses any e-mail i send. it doesn't have a 500K quota too!!! just go to www.softhome.net, then register. i think it's really cool....

another thing, do any of you guys know a place where i can trade my 7650 to 3650 for a minimal amount? hehehe, i'm kinda short on the budget......

any GLOBE REPRESENTATIVE OUT THERE, PLEASE, DONT EVER CHARGE US ON GPRS! that would be the BIGGEST ADVANTAGE TO SMART!

Is it really free or do i have to pay my provider (A1_Austria) for the GPRS?
If its totally free...is there also a provider to get free into the internet from my 7650?

Yeah, I'm a little confused is there such think as free GPRS. I'm with Orange (UK) and they want £3 per Mb or a monthly subscription...

What is this about globe.... if there is such a thing where and how do I get it...

wel just go to the philippines and subscribe to globe...

then you get to use gprs for free

Ah... I think going to the philippines is a bit drastic just for free gprs... I'll stick to nice old slow gsm connection...

also, the yahoo mail that you wish it to be attached...



those are the 2 things that i need, yahoo id and the address that you want. after this you can go to mail options then activate pop/forwarding. configure your phone and you can use it already....


hotpop and others have limits and are very slow... since i am in a good moood today ill give some of you guys the priviledge that im using...


remember, i cant give everyone his or her business mail, just some of you guys.... so i think its first come first serve...

the service is not free because you need to pay monthly dues BUT, FRANCHESCA will be the one to shoulder those dues.

no need to worry. dont you guys even notice some of the people here use @blackskull or @franchesca addresses already?

you can use it to send and receive mail from your 7650.

please give me complete information. i repeat, what i need is a yahoo email and the address that you want @franchesca.org

just follow the instructions in the mail that was sent to you...


after setting up, go to mail options then pop/forwarding...

youll see the settings there that you will enter on your phone...

I get asked for my user name and password thrice and then i get the error message.

The message says that the server does not recognize me or the server rejects me or something like that.

I don;t think i did something wrong because i can access the emails i sent to myself thru the net. But i cant access them thru my phone.

help pls.

i have already configured my phone (7650) by following the settign on the POP/Web access in the mail options section at Franchesca. i can actually retrieve email and view it on my phone but when i try to send an email,

it would always say Message Sending Failed then the prompt, General: System Error! Try Again!

is there something wrong with what i did? or is it conflicting with any software i have installed? does it require a certain amount of Memory space to actually send an email?

after activating it in yahoo....

usually it takes upto a week before the smtp server is opened for your account... you just have to wait...

for me it took around a week before i could even send...

i'm just curious. is there any way to send email from my phone via an ISP server? i've tried setting up the email settings with the POP and SMTP of the ISP and i get the same error when i send. does that mean i alos have to wait fro a week to be able to send or should i call my ISP to activate it?
