What do you mean "a holder"? I have two numbers in one SIM card on my 7650 (if that is what you mean by dual SIM), without any extra accessory....

not all GSM provider have the ability to put 2 numbers on 1 sim card. A "dual sim" holder is an extra device that enables us to use 2 sim card in 1 phone... the switching method usually done by turning off the phone and turning it on again...

I see... I did not know that.
I thought that every phone had that capability like we do here in Catalunya & in Spain...

in my previous fons, i used to have the dual sim holder. why? because in my country, there are 2 network providers (back then only two) since i wanted to use both networks, i must have 2 simcards naturally, but i only wanted to use 1 fon. gets? :)

Ok I think I understand....so if I wanted to be with AT&T and TMobile I would get a ACTIVE SIM card for both, use a Dual SIM adapter and switch as I would like....

Ok I get it.

BTW I found a place that has alot of DUAL SIM covers and Ghost Adapters...

Hope this helps someone,

DEPENDING ON SIM AND THE PHONE.

In my case, I have an option related to the SIM, that allows swapping without need of stopping your phone.

You can also use two SIMs (not necessarily from 2 different networks, as I do), if you want a business line and a personal line.
