Hi all,
I have just had a replacement 7650 (thanks to orange care ins.) as my old 7650 stopped turning on an the bottom row of keys stopped working (7, 8 and 9).
My new phone seems to be very slack in the sliding department, when I press down on the joystick the phone slides shut slightly - quite annoying... has anyone else had/got this problem. I'll probably tell orange to give me a new one if so...
Thanks
SK

I think they not replace your phone wif the new one. Coz looks like you keypad cover rubber is not new, that's why when u press down, your front cover also slide down. I solve this problem, by changing my keypad cover.

I'm pretty sure it is new.
I think the phone is just loose and something hasn't been tightened up enough.
Its p*ssing me off anyway..
Thanks

I don't understand SIMONKIRKLAND.... If you are gonna get your inssurance company to replace it, Why R U asking? what answer are you trying to get from "us"?
In any case, it is tru that some earlier releases (at least in Catalunya & Spain), have looser covers (in general), than the later ones. Mine, bought in January this year, is as tied as hell instead, my cousin's and my partner's, are very soft an sometimes even move when typing SMSs...

I was just seeing if I had a one off problem or if it was quite common.

I've had my 7650 for about 5 months, or so. When I got it the slide was nice and tight, but now it's quite loose and annoying.
I'm going to take it in to be fixed before the warranty runs out.
yup i think u should..

Mine actually came back from the service centre looser than when I took it in. It went in for a f/w update. But obviously they have to open it up with the tool.
The slide is only slightly looser but the most noticable difference is a slight rocking of the two halves. It's most noticable when the phone is held in one hand vertically. As you press the joypad or menu buttons you can feel it wiggle.

I have the same problem with my 7650.
The slide is already a bit loose and the two parts already have some kind of wiggle.
Does anyone have an idea where i can get it repaired in the Phils, more specifically in Manila?
Will it be ok to take it to Greenhills? I'm afraid the people there will just make it worse.

Is it true that when they upgrade the firmware, they have to open the phone? Kind a scary if it get loose.
Ive had my 7650 for more than 6 months now and its still tight. I'm having second thought if I want to upgrade from v 3.16 to 4.xx.
yup...they must open out the phone with a special plastic pincer..
if anything happen to ur phone u can just ask nokia to do fer u...

you can "repair" it yourself!
when you open the 7650 you will find the thing that holds the keyboard when it is opened or closed. it is on both sides.-a small piece of metal. you just have to bend them a bit to the outside and everything will suit perfectly again
