let put it this way i converted a 24 meg matrix preview
at qcif 176x144
frame rate fps 15
file bit rate bps 76200

it resulted in a 491kb .3gp which ran at the same quality as the original file

so i would say thats pretty dam good
and a hole movie could be do able on the 16meg mmc

cant comment on 7650 quality as i have a 3650

a 1.4meg mp3 at 12.2kbps result in a 144kb .amr which sounds great

i use the same setting as Mr Wolfman did but then the result in terms of size does not match ....

i tried to convert a 1.3 Mb mpeg which is about 1 minute and the converted file size is 577 kb compare to his result of a 24 Mb mpeg convert to a 4++ kb file .. ???

anything else that i missed out resulting in a bigger file size ??

I thought there was something special but this program can come handy if I want to encode movies without sending them to phone right away.

Pc Suite for 3650 actually does exactly the same job. I tried sending an mpg file using pc suite and it converted it to .3gp. Same file size, same quality

I am guessing you do not have java installed The-aNGeL.

I had that error to before and installed java as read on their documentation and
it went through installation. give it a try

i just converted chicago into 2 parts 143meg ish each part
resulted in two 30meg .3gp at standard compression both vid and audio

so 2 movies on a 128 meg mmc should be do able

Yeah, same here - downloaded it fine at work earlier but I had NT and didn't spot that it was 2000/XP until afterwards !

Now I'm at home with XP SP1 I can't get the damn thing downloaded again - it does seem like Nokia are having problems with their developer forum thing.

So, does anybody have it on their site/forum/whatever and I'll come and download it from you !!

FOR ALL OF U WHO HAS REGISTRY PROBLEMS:
i had the same problem as weel (if u read my post above) try this:
1.) run setup
2.) instead of entering ur username and serial number provided by Nokia, PRESS NEXT
3.) you will be asked for your password and username. enter it
5.) Nokia will send u another mail with a different serial
6.) enter the serial, that should work.

Im running Win2K with the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine.

I don't really want to run the SUN version (have some older software that expects the MS Java VM to be loaded)

is there a way to make it work with the MS JVM?

people who are trying to get this software to work on non 2000pro or xp machines stop dont bother u wont get it to work its NOT for your systems

for thoughs trying to use this software on copied 200pro xp machines forget it unless u have been able to do the auto updates via the microsoft website and have the xp os completely upto date

I have a XP version that is NOT up to date (I know I didnt apply all the pathces)

The only way I got it to install (both on Win2k and on XP) was to install the SUN Java Virtual Machine (www.sun.com/downloads)


I dont know what it is going to break since I was using the Microsoft Virtual Machine but we will see.

I dont have my XP updated to the latest nor has done any updates at all but it went through the installation. I got the same error and i just installed the java fro the sun and it worked fine now.

each nokia forum member has a different serial number. u might want to try Nokia7650uk's which u can find in this thread at page number 1.

you can call me foolish, dumb, ignorant yeah i should update that thing and I would if it was connected to the internet but I dont have that thing connected at all.

I manage a couple of e-commerce sites with Information Security breathing down my neck so believe me I know which patches to apply but that XP machine is the kids little toy what do I care what happends to that one. If something would happen to it I re-image it, big deal

Well said that Wolfman, Being a member of another forum involving Mr Wolfman i dont think you realise that probably not proclaiming himself to know everything about pcs and mobs hes probably forgot more then most of you know. Forums are for ppl to work as a TEAM and come up with suggestions, software, hardware issue and applications involved on making the most of your mob. Wolfman only found a prog and shared it with you guys and it was as good as thrown straight back into his face from various members.

If i was Wolfman id walk away from this forum and give all his info to another forum where users will appreciate it.

just to let u know too sib i new that pc suit did it too
but i wanted to be able to change the compression rates of the movies not audio
the reason behind this is i want to look for ways of streaming movies via gprs/wap/bluetooth etc and smaller compression sizes are a must under these conditions.
so in all it was about the bigger picture really and not just the basics

hey guys helix producer is still the best video streaming compressor i have tried......................................i compared both nokia's converter and helix....................................damn there's a big of difference!!!..............................................helix producer has a pre default settings based on what connection speed u will use...................................example for 56kbs connection, its already defined all u have to do is tweak the fps if u want smoother video.....................................................but i will keep this nokia's converter for my amr's...............................................
