Nokia 8855 "Contact Service"

Hello

I have a Nokia 8855 which is showing contact service when I switch it on. This has happened because I have tried upgrading the software from 5.20 to 5.23 using DCT3 Workshop.

I have tried to use other flashers to flash Eprom Knok2k3, Rolis but for some reason they do not like the flasher cable I am using. The same cable works with DCT3 Workshop, Windls. Why will this cable not work with Knok and Rolis ? Do I need a different cable or are there some settings on Windows 98 that I need to change?

Any help or advice will be appreciated.

Is it a Dejan Flasher Cable? Cause Rolis, Knok I think only work with Dejan Flasher Cable!

How would I find out if it is Dejan Flasher cable ?

The problem is that you can't find out now because the circuit is in the LPT socket and you can't open it. The circuit is sometime in the phone socket. If it is try to open it and look if there is the chip 74HC14 inside.

This cable has a IC with 16CE625-20P. I also have another flasher cable which only works with Rolis 4.77 but not with newer versions or Knok2k3, the IC in this flasher cable is NM74HC14N.

Do I need to get another flasher cable ?

The one with IC NM74HC14N (same as IC 74HC14) should work with Rolis version 4.77 and 4.78. For Knok software, sometime it work and sometime it doesn't work for me also.

I have only got version 4.77 of rolis to work on a 5110. It does not seem to like any other phones. By the way I am using a P3 Compaq laptop. I have tried all the different setting in the BIOS for the LTP port ECP, EPP, Standard and Bi-Directional but still no joy. There must be someone else out there who has encountered these problems.

Hm..try to use a standart PC....laptops LPT is not good for doing
such things with your phone

Are you using Windows XP? If yes you will need Userport because Windows XP block LPT port for undetected devices and userport fixed this problem!
