Hasten Helix Pro Plus Convertion

Is there a faster way to convert files using Helix Pro Plus faster?
coz it plays the whole movie while converting it..

meaning if you are planning to convert a 2hour movie, you have to wait 2hours for it to convert.. :(

is there no way to hasten it? please help.

It depends on what machine you're using. The encoding process is quite fast on a Pentium 4 computer, but still, it's not lightning fast. One way of speeding up the process is by disabling the 2-pass video encoding option. You can also try to use lower settings for the audience template (the default 64k single ISDN would suffice).

Hope this helps.

To rip a 2 hour DVD from the beggining, you won't take less than 6 hours!! Even in a fast processor

What process are you using to rip dvd's? I think 6 hours is way too long.

I use smart ripper to rip the dvd files (takes me around 20 to 25 minutes to rip a 1 1/2 hour dvd video), then I frameserve it using dvd2avi (takes me around 12 to 15 minutes), after that I reencode the wav file created by dvd2avi using audio cleaning lab (I do this because, for some reason, the audio wav file isn't that audible, I have to normalize the sound using audio cleaning lab, this process takes around 7 to 10 minutes), after that I encode it (mpeg1 vcd) using Tmpgenc (takes me about 1 1/2 hour to do this). The entire process shouldn't take more than 2 1/2 hours (for a 1 1/2 hour dvd movie).

The only reason i know why it would take more than 6 hours to rip, frameserve, and encode a dvd file is if all the optimal settings are enabled.
