Mmhh... If someone stole my phone he would probably change my sim with his own (since most sims require a code when phone is turned on, and the thief doesn't know it). Then I wouldn't know the new phone number to which I should send the locking command...

didn't the doc say the app is installed in phone memory so taking the sim out wouldn't do nothing it would still load right?
I agree on the risky part, I'm tempting to install it (currently only $5.99 so why bother waiting for a crack) but what if it locks and you can't get it undone.

yes it will load but u have to send an SMS message to activate the locking, how will u do it then? unless u know the phone number of the one who stole ur fon...

you have a very good point there.
However, you could enable sim security that way the phone wouldn't accept the new sim without the security code.

better: phone sends sms to a friend when simcard is changed. then you know the number of the damn thief :)
Anyone thats tried this app (coz im taking no chances with a wildpalm security app after the buggy as f*ck wildskinz) does it use the phones lock or its own? Just wondering whether after the phone has been locked by switching on and off with ABC held down during boot up will it bypass it locking the phone again?

hmm...
Sounds a little smart at first, but i can't imagin that it is as effective as it sounds.
First of all because the point you mentioned above - how do you know the thief's phonenumber?
And if the phone recieves a message with the text "LOCK password" - the message must be stored somewhere?
And a simple format of the phone would of course uninstall it...
wenmi: You're idea is very good! Better than the idea of the program...
It would be better to have the thief's number, than lock the phone. You could track the number, call the police, SMS bomb him, or simply call him and tell him to give the phone back.

version of PhoneSecure. Also, once the lock is enabled, it's not possible

Sakeb: Yes, with all those functions, running in background all the time i suppose the phone would be pretty unstable.
But it would be smart to only activated if you go to places there is a little risk of getting it stolen. I mean, it is not nesessary to activate it at home for instance.

I was wondering... how secure is the function, already included in Nokia 3650 (and many other phones), that, when enabled, makes the phone ask for a security code when a different SIMCard is inserted?

Hi All,
Seriously speaking, I have been waiting for such a great software to be wirtten for the 7650/3650.
What I think is that after the phone is lost or stolen, and the person changes the sim to his/her own :
We should actually disable the phone security lock so as to allow the thief to access the phone.
(Unfortunately, we cannot make the program disable the security lock automatically when the sim is changed because we have to enter the lock code to start the phone and the program.)
The program will then detect that the sim is changed and automatically send an sms to the mobile number that you specified in the program to notify you about the person's number.
Like Wenmi said.
When you receive the sms notice on your specified phone, you can then choose to send an sms back to LOCK up your lost or stolen 7650/3650.
At least now no matter what, you have the ass's phone number.
What about if you install phone secure and also mini gps...
as you know that minigps can send sms automatically (but you must fill so many cell id...)
Then... when the thief change the simcard (and hope He/She is not uninstall minigps) and reach a cell id that you have fill... It will be send automatically to specific number that you choose... So you will have the thief number... :D and activated the phone lock by send sms to thief number... ::LOCK password
What do you think....
