Hi guys. Does anyone know how I can get the front cover off my 7650 so I can clean it up a bit? I've got these three bits of dust behind it, and although it doesn't affect it's operation in any way, it REALLY annoys me, especially in direct sunlight.

Cheers.

I know it but its not Easy because you must open your 7650 and you could lose your waranty if you do that because you must divide the Keymat from the Phone an open some Torx Screws till you could clean your phone. Without the Nokia 7650 Opening Tool you must be very carefully if you want to open your 7650!

I hope you understand my bad English

Well, I'm not too afraid to have a go cos it's insured anyway, if I damage it I'll just say it got stolen or something :)

Where can I get hold of the tools I need?

I thought the front of the screen would pull off like on all my previous nokia phones, it is usually held on by some strong double sided tape so that its easily replaceable if it gets scratched

I was wondering, from where the dust can enter the display?

My display is dusty too, it even has a dead cat inside!

Mosser, have you tried to pull it off? Any success?

yeah i've had the same problem tonnes of times.. It's not really a good idea to get your phone's cover off yourself.... You could stuff it up and then nokia will charge you for fixing it up.. I took mine to a nokia service centre and they did it with a smile.
I think the dust comes in from the place where the joystick is..
Quite a while a go there was a discussion about this thing and someone suggested using a vacumn cleaner on a low suction power..
lol

I wouldn't suggest opening your phone, just bring it to a authorized Nokia Service Center. But if you are really determined in doing it yourself, go to the nokia website, If I'm not mistaken, they have a step-by-step instructional video on how to dismantle your phone, the video even tells you what tools you need. Just be patient, the video takes a while to download.

Ah, that sounds cool, thanks guys! I'm not sure where my nearest nokia service centre is, so I think I'm kinda stuck with doing it myself.

Does anyone have a link to that video?

Hi guys,

A year ago I had the same problem due to static suction (woh, souns a bit corny) and i went to a computer repairshop (because of the problems removing the cover;......and please don't do this!!!).
They used a airgun (I don't know how to call this in english) and opened the cover a little bit with the use of their fingers and injeted the air and this solved my problems.
I hope you all understand what i'm trying to say and that it will work for you .

Kind regards or cheerio

Roland
