ive downloaded some movies from kaazaa avi files, but everytime i try to convert them with pvauthor i get the error

"cannot process the source format. Please select a different source."

wot do i need to do?

You first have to convert avi to mpeg..................................just save it as for examlpe.............................jackass.avi to jackass.mpeg.........................................in wmp............thats all...................and proceed to ur pv author...................

i dont c the option in windows media player to "save file as"

file.................save media as.............in the save as box type....................................'jackass.mpeg'....................u have to type .mpeg after the file name.......................................

14344 i pressed file but there is not save media as option...
theres
open
open url
close
add to library
import playlist to library
export playlist to file
copy to cd
properties
work offline
exit

so how can i save the file to mpg???

hehehehe what version of wmp are u using??..........................install version 7 or the latest 9......................it has the save as option...........................sorry about that.....................................

i have version: 7.01.00.3055which i guess is version 7
but it dont have the save as option, also i was told and irecall reading somewhere that to convert avi to mpg u have to go through a process with a peice of software called tmpg or somthing like that, and it takes a few hrs...

i have wmp version 9 and it is what i am using to convert avi to mpeg..................................................so i guess save as option started in version 8 in wmp............................................trust me man...................................

yea great! :d final question, does anyone have the best settings for the pvauthor? because my settings r no good, picture n sound is distorted.. i just cant seem to make a good setting, if anyone has one plz let me know what ur settings r
