Nokia 3390

Hello,

I'm new to all this mobile stuff, the only thing I've used it for is calling and txt messages so please excuse me for sounding dim.

Someone kindly gave me their old phone when they got a new one but when I put my Vodafone sim card in it it says "SIM card not accepted"

I have been reading through all the codes that have been posted in other threads and have managed to get my phone information, but where do I put in these unlocking codes?

When I get to the screen where it tells me it's not accepted, the only thing i can do is either key in a bunch of numbers, which doesn't seem to do anything, or turn the volume up or down.

Could someone please tell me were I need to key in a code to unlock it?

nokia 3390 is dct3. the unlock codes are only for dct4 phones (newer models) it is not possible (yet) to unlock 3390 by codes, if someone gave you codes for that phone - they will not work as they are calculated for newer models.

the only option you can unlock it is connecting it to the computer with mbus cable (a.k.a datacable) and download a program from the download section:

you can use the progrma EEprom tools by b-phreaks (i've used this one), Knok95 or Rolis nokia tool.
