I had my 7650 (v3.16) for over 2 months now and enjoying its capabilities and all the utilities software like Stacker, Hipcam, eFileManager, Screensaver, Stools, ProfessionalClock, irRemote, etc.
However, last 3 days ago something went wrong with my unit . It just displays first 'system error' from any apps I activated. I tried switching off/on the unit to test but what you will see first are messages like 'System error !', 'Telephone error !', etc. before displaying the security password prompt and going to the normal display.
From there, the error will just come out first before any apps you choose to use are displayed. Phone functions seems to be normal. I can receive calls, call anybody, calendars, Video MMS and Hipcam are also functioning.
When I tried creating short message, I noticed any keys I pressed results to numeric displays. It disables alpha keys.
I remember pressing 'abc' key while unit is restarting from switch off status and the error seems to be gone but after a while the errors just went back.
I then opted for sTools 'Restore Factory' but last night when I'm charging the battery I notice that it continously charging the battery (over 3hours) and not getting the normal battery charge. I also notice the 'G' GPRS icon is also there even if you have disconnected and exit the 'Services' option. I think the problem is not yet rectified.
Recalling what could have gone wrong from the last apps or utilities I last installed, I remember installing betaicons, OPM client and Smartlauncher with the 5 skins with it.
I dont remember anything wrong during installation only when I Archive OPM using Stacker3.0 and the message before compressing the apps something like 'This is embedablle' thing and of course beta release 'Betaicons'. I'm not so sure which of these apps messed up my unit but what I'm sure though is that I need to Reformat the phone to have it back in A-condition.
Questions>
1. Anyone who has a cracked sTools to be able to use 'Format phone' option. Pls send it to [email protected]
2. After 'Format phone' option what will I expect from it. Will it restore the normal 7650 apps., etc. If not, is there any tool/s I can use to have them all installed back.
If everything fails then I'll just have to sent my unit back to nokia center for the need and be careful next time about using some of the utilities mentioned (upgrade the version as well). Cost probably is USD10.00.
