Samsung V205 to V200

Hi, Anyone can tell me where to dowload teh needed firles and software for upgrading my V205 to V200?
By the way, what is teh difference between V200, 205 and V208?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

OptiFlash (V20X) with flash file v20xewc2.s3, Unzip those all to one folder. (Windows XP Only)

Use Cable: V205/V200 (#PCB037DBE), R225, T100 and S300.



Added Features:
1. Hide Operation Logo, time and date.
2. Camera zoom.
3. Upload the cam pictures to PC.
4. Activate Folder Tone (same as S300).
5. More keypad tones (Cool & Piano).
6. New startup screen. (T-Mobile is gone)
7. More wallpapers.
8. Animation when searching service is different.
9. Restricted: Call Barring, Closed User Group.
10. MMS and WAP settings with out entering the code.
And more.........

How to BACKUP ...........


1) Open OptiFlash program go to Options\Settings\COM Port, set First COM Port only, disabled Second COM Port (none) .

2) Click READ tab deleted all the existing read ranges and add the following up ranges:

0x00000000 - 0x00000617
0x00004000 - 0x00007a43
0x00010000 - 0x00576a53
0x00700000 - 0x00cbd713

Then click on ok.

3) Take out the sim card, connect cable to phone and then click on READ...software will then ask to power on mobile, Press the pwr button on phone for about 1-2 seconds ( You will NOT see the phone come on!! ).

This will take about 10 or so mins to read the flash..file output is 34 mb. It will say "all is well" when its finished reading. remove battery and put it back on.

4) Now goto options settings FLASH & VERIFY tab then open the file that you just saved which is the flash of your own fone. Click ok and then click on VERIFY. If it verifies 100% it will say all is well. remove battery put it back on.
IMPORTANT NOTE IF YOU GET ANY ERROR HERE DURING THE VERIFY PROCESS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU NOT CONTINUE.



How to FLASH:
1) Goto options\settings\flash and verify, open the new v200 flash file its called v20xewc2.s3.

2) Clear Reserved memory regions (blank, no need to type in any range) .

3) Click on Generic tab, select Customer T1, v200 in specify hardware platform. Then press ok.

4) Click on FLASH buttom start to flash. software will then ask to power on mobile, Press the pwr button on phone for about 1-2 seconds ( You will NOT see the phone come on!! ). This process took about 20mins then it said all is well. At this point it was done.

5) Remove cable and battery, then put the battery back on then turned on the phone (without sim card).

9) When phone ask you to insert sim do this resets (each one will reboots then insert next code)

(After the phone reboots "Personalization Cancelled" should be displayed.)

10) SMILE ;-) It's done! Turn off the phone, insert sim card.

Hi, I downloaded both files but the V20X.Rar couldn't be open or unzipped. Any one know what is the problem or is it damaged?
Also I read from anotehr thread saying I need to go to the write Tab to change some codes, I couldn't find this tab from Option==>setting.
Anyone please help.

I just download from the link above which i posted, there is no problem unzip, everythings fine. even I can find and set Option==>setting...

try download again, the flash file v20xewc2.s3 come with program.

Is it ture that I can't use easyGSM/PRS before I upgrade to V200?
Because I installed the 2.12 version and connected via IrDa port , my pc can detects the phone but the program keep saying offline ( i verified the com is correctly configures, COM1 in this case).
Anyone can help solve this problem?

IF YOU connected via IrDa port, you have to select IrDA in SETUP PORT.

Hi, I set my IrDa to com1 and so did the EasyPRS/GSM but it didn't detect the phone, and no port setting for iRdA but only com1 or com2

i use intenal. so, i'm not sure you need a driver for extenal IrDA.

Yup, you download any photos (128x128 or less) or rimgtones to the phone, even you can download my photos to PC.

You can't delete original photos, you can delete the downloads, funbox\download\photo\...

Well I was following the directions you had for Flashing the V205 to a V200. However, after I flashed the phone, and restated it, like step (5) on your intructions say to do, the lanuage changed to something other than english. Says something along the lines of (SIM- Karte einserzen). I can only assume that this means to insert the sim card.

Then I notice that your instructions jump from (5) to (9). So am I missing something? Because I have no idea how to complete step (9). The phone is only allowing me to enter in numbers and is not giving me the option of letters.

PLEASE HELP!!!

you have to enter all reset code (9).

yup, it is serial cable, they are original from samsung, there are some aftermarket too, but they make data and unlock cables, only unlock cable works for flash, data doesn't.

it have asoftware power problem .. i tried to repair it .. in ur way in flashing ..
i tooks every thing very well .. it reads the flash and every thing was ok untill i flashed it .. it gives me amsg ..

Don't work under win98.

if you are running under 2000 or XP, double check COM Port:
1) Open OptiFlash program go to Options\Settings\COM Port, set First COM Port only, disabled Second COM Port (none)

i set the com as u said and i work under win2000.
but its the same ..
i thought that it maybe ahardware thing .. but when it read the flash .. i was sure that its software ,, i dont know but is there aprogramm that can erase the flash .. and is the V200 Flash file came in one partition or two .. coz i found just one flash and i know that samsung mobiles have three kind of flashes ..
main and second and eeprom..
i hope if u can give me another way to repair that problem ..

that's only 1 flash file (v20xewc2.s3) come with the OptiFlash.

Try to flash again skip the READ part,

i cant seem to backup my phone's flash and an error occurs. (ERR_FLASHTYPE) what is wrong? can i flash without backing up the original?

I've heard that when you flash to V200 from V205, that the SMS text is limited to 70 charachters, before splitting into 2 messages. Anybody know anything about this?
If it is limited to 70 charachters is just when you send or when you recieve also??

When I flashed my V205 to V200, after the last step my phone also read "SIM- Karte ..........". I repeated the final steps where you enter the code, power down and remove the battery for 10 seconds between each step. My then worked fine and displayed the English language. *remember to do them without the sim installed.

Just go ahead enter all that reset codes, after all... then insert sim card, goto Phone settings\language (4 steps down), change to English. if you are in 1900 area, then goto Network Services\Band Selection select GSM 1900.

Can we flash from v200 back to v205? and IF we can, do we still read/verify and then flash? If that's not the proper steps, can anyone kindly enough type up the proper steps? Also, can i use the old v205 back up when i read/verify the first time (from v205 to v200) or is there another flash file?

Samsung V205 MMS

I bought a v205 and had it unlocked. I sent it over seas and everything works great except for the MMS. It doesnt work at all. the samsung dept over there said to go to the menu and then to picture messages and then to mms profile. but the v205 does not that have mms profile. They thought it might have the same menu as the V200. So my question is if i upgrade the software to v200 then it should let me into the mms profile right??? And also could you tell me exactly what it means to "FLASH" Thanks for the time.

I've looked on-line trying to find the PCB037DBE flash unlock cable for the V205, and can't find it. Anyone have any idea where I can get one? I found several aftermarket USB data cables, but I don't know if they will unlock the flash?

That cable comes with the fone, i think.... assuming you bought the fone new, and not second hand...

I have tried several times to read the flash from my phone (before I try to upgrade it). I am using the MA-8220 USB cable supplied with the Fone-Data Suite software. Everytime I try the software goes all the way through reading the flash, and when it goes to save the file XP crashes and reboots. Any ideas on what my problem is? I don't want to try flashing the new software into my phone until I am sure that the flash software is working right.

when i flashed from v205 to v200, phonebook, and text messages both came over too. unfortunately, all my pics are gone. the whole reason i wanted v200 was so i could send them to the pc with the data cable. is there a way to get the pics to come over when you flash, and if i flash back my saved v205 file, will my pictures come back?

Help me, I tried to flash my V205 to V200 as the instruction above, and at step 4 when I started click on Flash, it went to 3% then I got errors "Sorry too many retries, then it stopped and I tried to turn the phone on again but it is dead.
