hi guys has anybody finally found wot the best settings are for pvauthor?? i have some movies and some simpsons episodes downloaded from kaazaa but when i convert them to mp4 the sound and sometimes the picture quality is very distorted, any tips wot the best settings r to keep??

I use Pvauthor to convert my video files to mpeg4, here are the settings I use:

screen size: 176x144

audio: 12.20, 8.00 khz, mono, 3gpp

maximum frame rate: 7.49 fps

custom bitrate: 200,000

*aside from the above-mentioned settings, leave everything as is

Note:

with the above-stated settings, my videos are very crisp and clear, audio is ok, but I wish it could be better, unfortunately, 12.20 is the highest audio setting possible. The videos run smoothly on my 3650 using realplayer (you might have to play with some of the settings of realone just in case the video lags or is choppy). But be warned, with the these settings, a 20minute video could end up close to or a little above 30megabytes. That's the price one has to pay to get very good quality video.
