I have a 3310 with a 3410 board!
Well it looks like a 3410 board as the button contacts are in the same place as the 3410!
I was wondering if this can be upgraded to a 3410 in anyway??
I have read the flash chip from 0x400000 to 0x600000 and it read it fine, does this mean I have a 4 mb flash chip??
cheers for any help!!

NO!
There was a few 3310's sold with 3330 boards in them due to a shortage of 3310! I have two of the boards you're talking about here in front of me! As I'm typing this I'm reading one of them from 0400000 to 0600000, so maybe there is something there!? But if it works out, it will be a 3330 not 3410! The 3330 has 4Mb, 2Mb of Dram and 2Mb of Sram, whereas the 3410 has 4Mb of Dram!;) But a 3350 upgrade may be possible?? I'll post results!

It had an error at the end of the read, see below! Flashed it with a working 3350 full flash, it took the whole flash with no errors... won't turn on! Tried a virgin eeprom... won't turn on! When I tried to read it back, Rolis is blank, theres no info about the flash, see below! What's the deal? Why are these 3310's taking a full 3350 flash?

Just opened the 3350 flash that was read back from the phone in Hex workshop! It only has information up to 03FFFFC! So it obviously is NOT writing to 0600000!?

I flashed it with a 3330 flash ok but I don't have an eeprom!!
If its a 3330 board then why are the button contacts like the 3410 is this for ease of manufacturing, like all the phones use the same board but different hardware???

Could you post the 3350 flash so that I can try it on mine??

Dude, if you have the 3310s with the bigger IC than the pictures show something wrong. In the pictures you attached even a moron can see that the phone has 16mbits of memory, that is 2 mbytes. (blank.jpg. m28w160t).

@Algis
Why don't you read the thread before mouthing off! Myself and Danwood76 have stated that we know it says 2Mb but they have the extra pads and ARE taking a 32Mb Flash!!! We ask why!?:mad:

are you sure?
isn't 03FFFFC address for first hex value on that line..
and after that 8 bytes.. so ending 0600004....
or maybe your hex editor is different than my :)
my hex edit shows starting address for first byte.

@Chunkhead
The flash may only read upto 03FFFFC as this is all you could read back but it is full, I expect the flash you sent was 4 bits short or something!
All flashes vary slightly in size anyway, or this is what I have found!
Is the flash close to 4mb??

Hi,
Please, the answer was already there:
>> isn't 03FFFFC address for first hex value on that line... !!!
>> and after that 4 bytes.. so ending 0600000.... !!!
(FF is 1 byte or 8 bits.)
Anyway, 20-60 from a 3310 will result in 2 times the same 20-40 + 20-40 data.
I guess it is in the flashing tools.
U should have bought the Ferrari in first place. ;)
