Best equipment to use and where from

Hey guys,

Just after some info. I can quite happily mess around with the software side of phones, i have however found myself with a bit of spare time and would like to get into the hardware side.

What equipment would you guys recommend? What do you use? Where abouts can i purchase this equipment and spare parts for the phones? i live in the UK. Is the art of soldering easy to pick up or would you recommend a course of some kind?

Hope some of you experienced phone engineers can answer some of my questions!

2. phone service manual
3. BGA soldering machine
4. frequency counter
5. power supply
6. test jig
7. wintesla service software
8. spare parts
