i've a 7210 and i'm wonderin does anyone find the infrared feature useful? i can only send business cards on the 7210 i dont think you can send pics, which would actually be useful, and i cant send anything to a Sharp picture phone!! its fairly limited but has such potential..... just wondering what you think

I find it very useful.
Games, apps, logos, ringtones, backup of phone book, send TXT by writing them on the PC, WAP bookmarks... the list is endless
Of course you can only do this if your PC has an IR port if not well then you are not going to find to much to do with it.

Yup, without a IrDA for your computer, there is little use of DCT4 phone's IR port as they don't allow sending betwen phones either.

This is really a missing function... maybe someone can create software on JAVA basis to get this going?
Having two or even more Nokia's with IR in the household/family, why is it impossible to transfer content such as ringtones, games or pictures between the phones via IR..??? No, it seems like Nokia develops phones nowadays only for network operators, forcing users to send such content by MMS or have to connect the phones to a computer. Even phones of the same type can't exchange anything except business cards that way.....

But Nokia Symbian Phones (i.e. 3650/7650) allow sending pictures and tones between each other. Atleast some phones in nokia know how to properly use the IR port.
