the only thing i can think of is to try to use it in a different country. i am not 100% sure that it will work but i think you will have better chance than trying to change the imei no.
good luck

teelims right.... the best way to get a working phone is to swap with someone abroad.....only problem is that some people will rip you off!

It will be very hard for you to change the IMEI code since this is encrypted within the phone rom memory. The only way to change it is to have the encrypter from Nokia. They are selling the hardware in the NET before... but the hardware module cost more than the phone itself... so i guess its better for you to get another phone..... :p

Enlighten me 'cause i'm havig a fwe doubts.
IMEI's are blocked by the operator on stolen phones.
Is the fone totaly useless? Or is only blocked to network?
Because if you say to change country....

before they just locked the network you where on, now they block all the networks in the country. just cant make call etc. still can use for games and apps. Also i think if you take the phone away from the country it was blocked in, may be it will work.

IMEI uniquely identifies the mobile phone in a GSM net. This means that if a mobile phone is stolen, it could be block for futher use in all GSM nets, but only if every single GSM net system contains routines for checking the IMEI number against a cntral blocking register. Almost all European GSM net operators fullfill these demands.

I think you'll find that it does actually work in another country, as Operators don't really care that much if a foreigner uses a stolen phone in their country...
A: Is a big "bothering" for them to keep an "IMEI blockage" database with other foreign operators, and B: At the end of the day, it is another user making money throught their network, and that is all they care about (I'm talking for what a Technician friend of mine, from Spanish Telefonica told me...)
...and to be honest, I think they would be breaching some Data Protection Acts and laws by doing that... (at least at the stage that the European Union it is right now...)

I guess almogaver is right.. why should the network care for blocking the phone if the one who got it just changed sim and will still use it... it will gain profit for the network... and it will just take up space on there system.. if it stores all the blocked numbers and continusly checks if the said blocked numbers are still being use....

You said:

...and TEELIM said:

And is not quite the same is it?? (NO OFFENSE, just a comment...)
ANYWAY, if somebody is interested in swaping phones, I have a 6310 that was sold to a friend of mine, and he bought it without realizing that it had the IMEI blocked (therefore he had been ripped-off), and so he gave it t me incase I could do something with it...
