Hiya,

I am trying to install a 64kb game (pop) on my 3410. It has 100+ kb free and yet I get "File too large" I read somewhere that some phones have a maximum app size, but I can't seem to find out how big is the maximum on a 3410. Could someone confirm my fear that it can't be installed?

<EDIT>
"Nokia Phones support Midlets up to 50K in size. The Nokia phone will not let you download any midlets larger than 50K.", apparantly. If this is true, how do I get a 64kb Midlet onto my phone? Or is it simply impossible? (The game is Prince of Persia)
</EDIT>

Cheers

Bob

Try to upgrade ur phone to version 5.06. If the problem is solved then ok. If not then the above statement (about not being able to load a game larger than 50 kb's) is true unfortunately...

My phone is already at 5.06 :(

Oh well, I'm just suprised that POP is > 50kb, it is advertised on many sites as being for the 3410, so...shrug...

As for my subject, I have read around this forum, I don't think there is any other way. I only have a bus cable, so I don't think I can upload midlets.

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Man...this was soo long ago.

Sorry for digging it up but I thought I'd post a complete answer.

The 3410 and other dct3 phones cannot have games uploaded to them through a cable.

They can be transferred from one phone to the other by flash files.Even partial flash files...but that's complex and not fully understood I believe ;)

The 3410 also has a maximum file size of 50kb...games for it cannot be bigger than that. The games I saw advertised were specially for the 3410 at under 50kb.

You can also use colour games, normally for the 3510i on the 3410...but again they have to be below 50kb...And most look very bad :(

Well...that's enough answering my own Qs...

Cheers Bob (You're welcome Bob)

EDIT: At the time of writing the program by Jeep in alpha stages, now it's working well...Games can be uploaded to the 3410 by partial flashing :)
