Hey all,

I`m trying to connect my 7250 via Ird and having a load of bother. The laptop I`m using knows its there but keeps disconnecting after a few min`s. I`m using PC Suite 5.1 and downloaded the xp modem drivers to install. Problem is my modem settings arent picking up the modem so I cant update the drivers. The computer see`s the 7250 and then after about 10 seconds it throws up an error and disconnects. Is there another way to get the puter to install the 7250 drivers, if not is there another programme I can use. I even took out my xp pro and installed win98 and the same **** happened. Anybody any idea`s before my laptop goes really fast, through the window.

If its got tits and drivers, they will always give ya a headache.

This is a common problem if you install a IrDA port. If you can't use your modem that means that you too have gone into the classic conflicting IRQ problem. I had the same problem. What you can do is just this:
Disable the IrDA adapter in the hardware device menu and restart. Your modem will work fine. Now to use the IrDA again just enable it from the hardware device menu again.
You will have to again and again do this to work with both the hardware. (It sucks...but it works...)

The disconnection you are talking about is a driver problem. Update the driver for your OS and it will connect fine.
